Metropolitan Melbourne will move from a circuit-breaker lockdown to eased restrictions at 11.59 pm on 10 June 2021.
As they have throughout the lockdown, Vision Eye Institute’s Victorian clinics and day surgeries will remain open – however, some restrictions may apply. If you have an upcoming appointment scheduled at one of our Victorian clinics or day surgeries and we need to reschedule your appointment, the clinic staff will contact you directly.
Guided by Vision Eye Institute’sIn Safe Hands program, our clinics and day surgeries have continued to observe strict social distancing and infection control measures (including mandatory masks for all patients, staff and visitors).
More information on the latest restrictions can be found on the Victorian Department of Health website: www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus
In keeping with advice from The Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), we are encouraging all patients with existing eye conditions and/or new symptoms to seek attention from an eye care specialist. In particular, patients with conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration are urged to prioritise their eye care appointments, since missed or delayed treatments can lead to irreversible vision loss.
If you are concerned about leaving home, please be assured that protecting the health and wellbeing of our patients, carers, staff and doctors remains our top priority. All facilities will continue to observe strict infection control protocols and social distancing measures to ensure a safe environment for your medical care.
Please do not attend your appointment if you are unwell, have been asked to quarantine, or reside with someone who is unwell or has been asked to quarantine.
If you are attending an appointment, we ask that you:
If attending an appointment, you will be asked to read the information on the external signage and sign a declaration. You will also need to complete a QR check-in on your device and confirm that you meet all the conditions prior to gaining entry. As a further safety precaution, a number of our larger clinics have implemented a concierge service to screen patients before admitting them into the clinic.
Alcohol-based hand rub is available on arrival and all visitors are asked to clean their hands thoroughly on arrival. Please ensure you cover any coughs or sneezes with a tissue (and dispose of the tissue appropriately). Each of our sites undertakes regular cleaning of all surfaces, with ample supplies of hand sanitiser for staff and visitors.
We appreciate your assistance in ensuring we are able to safely meet the needs of our patients.
